Battlefield 6 Players Concur: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult

The debut of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. However, despite its popularity, many players are expressing frustration over some of the game's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Users have commenced using personalized games made via the custom game tool to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how demanding these challenges have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Assignments

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four classes of assignments, but while the majority merely grant skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of getting twelve from the forty-one primary weapons available in the game.

Several of these restricted firearms may soon earn a place on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Community Frustration via Reddit

On Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is highly imprecise and functions solely at very short distances, which is not usually a position you want to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Overly Demanding Mission

A different forum member pointed out an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills over 200m with long-range weapons

This is challenging enough by itself, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at those extended distances.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and maybe Operation Firestorm at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.

The Alternative Method

Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This implies you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.

But when completing the missions in a standard match feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an atypical style that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for finishing these in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.

For now, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these demanding in-game tasks, hoping for a fairer player experience in coming revisions.
