Former NFL Athlete Antonio Brown Files Not Guilty Plea in Murder Attempt Charges

Former NFL player Antonio Brown is heading to Miami to face an attempted murder allegation related to a incident that happened in May, as his lawyer submitting a innocent plea on his behalf.

Jail records in Essex, New Jersey, indicate that Brown was released on Tuesday morning for his relocation to Florida. Brown, a highly popular athletes in the NFL, had relinquished transfer to Florida from New Jersey, in which he was taken after being taken into custody in the city of Dubai.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, said in an message that he has previously submitted a written innocent declaration to the murder attempt accusation. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as early as Wednesday early for a release proceeding, Eiglarsh said.

As per his arrest warrant, Brown is accused of taking a firearm from a security staffer after a star match contest in May and firing two shots at a person he had confronted with previously. The claimed victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, informed investigators that one of the bullets scraped his nape.

Eiglarsh said that Brown was only safeguarding himself from Nantambu.

“The actions he was forced to take were solely in self-defense against the claimed victim’s violent actions. Brown was targeted that night and responded within his lawful privilege to defend himself,” Eiglarsh stated.

Brown was not right away detained because originally police did not identify Nantambu as a target. It not until subsequently in May that Nantambu delivered a complete statement about the incident to officers and identified Brown as the perpetrator, the report indicates.

According to his online content, Brown had been staying in Dubai for a number of weeks. In a message after the incident, Brown claimed he was defending himself because he was “attacked by several people who attempted to take my possessions and inflict bodily harm to me.”

A category two attempted murder accusation in the state of Florida carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence and up to a ten thousand dollar fee in the case of a conviction.

Brown has encountered multiple judicial problems over the period. He previously had been accused of battery of a delivery employee, several family violence allegations, failure to pay family payments and other events.

In a 2021 game with his team against the Jets, Brown stripped off his uniform, equipment and gloves and left the arena, leading to his release by the franchise and virtually concluding his football journey.
